Smart Fashion IET150

The IET/Fashion District Manufacturing Futures Prize

Pitch to some of London's largest retailers and investors and win a cash prize to invest in your idea!

We’re partnering with the Fashion Innovation Agency at the London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London (UAL), to launch a special prize – supporting technological innovations which are solving the manufacturing challenges facing the fashion industry today.

This could include solutions for waste reduction, digital sampling, sustainable materials, garment up-cycling, process automation, personalisation, and supply chain efficiencies.

The Fashion District is a cluster of ambitious businesses, academic institutions and investors in East London, aiming to make London the global capital of fashion technology.

Their Innovation Challenges are designed to find solutions to current industry issues, support new innovations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across design, manufacture and retail.

The purpose of this Manufacturing Challenge is to:

  • support innovative tech solutions across fashion manufacturing
  • source tech solutions from other sectors that could be applied to solve fashion manufacturing issues
  • create interdisciplinary connections between technologists and engineers, and fashion creatives and manufacturers.

Who can apply?:

  • Early tech start-ups who are a registered business working across fashion, manufacturing, supply chain, agriculture or science sectors.
  • Their business proposition must operate out of the UK or intend to be piloted or rolled out in the UK.

Now open for entries until 29 March 2021

Visit the Fashion District website for more information on their work.
